Transforming Land Productivity One Rock at a Time

When life gives you rocks, you can count on Tim Pannell to help you crush them into the soil. Tim is the founder of West Australian company Rocks Gone and is tackling the old age problem of rocky and non-productive farming land.

After leaving the family farm and setting off on a new adventure of crushing rocks, Tim identified areas that needed to be improved to suit the harsh conditions in WA. The result was the development of Rocks Gone’s flagship patented product, the Reefinator.

The Reefinator has been welcomed with open arms by the agriculture industry with over 100 machines sold across Australia in the three years of operations. The Reefinator was awarded Best Australian Made Machine at the Yorke Peninsula Field Days and Best New Release at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days in 2015. In 2017, Rocks Gone won the WA Innovator of the Year Award in the Growth Category for the Reefinator.

Rocks Gone success can be attributed to the investment they made when the company started to experience expediential growth. That investment was Triumph ERP Software. Rocks Gone was previously with MYOB but found it lacked the functionality and capability to grow with the business and support their inventory requirements.

“Besides from an excellent accounting program, we needed something that was strong on inventory. We chose Triumph ERP as it offered a range of different modules and it could be tailed to suit our needs,” said Tanya Pannell, Rocks Gone Executive Director.

To supplement the core financial package, Rocks Gone uses a combination of modules to support their sales, purchasing, and inventory needs.

“We use the Sales Order Entry module for quotes, the Purchasing Order module for suppliers, the Inventory module for stock transfers, and the Bill of Materials module for wear parts,” said Mrs Pannell.

Working with thousands of wear parts and warehouses in different states, inventory management was crucial. Triumph ERP offered a fast, accurate, and up-to-date information on stock quantities and stock locations, helping Rocks Gone to keep track of all their inventory.

“The Inventory modules were a key selling point for us to move to Triumph ERP. We enjoyed the fact that there were nine inventory modules available and the whole system could be tailed to suit our needs.”

“More so, Triumph ERP aligned with our business plan and met the needs of our operational strategy. As we continue to grow the business, we want the ability to add-on modules to our package as and when we see fit.”
